Wahupa means Enlightenment.

Our mission is to light the way for low-income and first-generation San Diegans to achieve their personal best.

The Wahupa TRiO of Programs:

Educational Talent Search

Academic, career, and financial counseling focused on motivating and encouraging high-potential, low-income, first-generation high-schoolers to graduate and go on to college.

Upward Bound

Coaching and counseling for college-bound students focused on admissions prep, financial assistance and socio-emotional college readiness.

Educational Opportunity Centers

Counseling and information on college admissions for adults who want to enter, re-enter, or continue their postsecondary education and those looking to obtain a high school diploma or GED.

I never thought I’d go to college. Wahupa helped me understand how to get there and walked me though all the steps. There was so much to do and my Advisor helped me every step of the way.
